Share a site preview

Put a website you are building in front of the client, with comments pinned to the page.

Set it up

  1. Open Settings → Previews.
  2. Choose the project and enter the address of the staging site, such as https://staging.acme.com.
  3. Save. The preview is on straight away.

Only Link admins set up previews. The project needs a public Link, and the address must be a plain https:// address you control.

Share it

Send the client https://preview.using.link/<Link>, using the project’s Link. It opens the site on its own preview address with Link’s comment layer on top. The project’s Material also shows the preview with its number of open comments.

Who can open it

Having the address is not enough. Reviewers sign in, and get in when they have access to the project, or when the project’s public page lets the client’s email domain sign in. Everyone else sees a locked page.

Comments

Reviewers click a spot on the site and leave a comment pinned there. Threads take replies and mentions, and can be resolved. Instead of an email per comment, people get one summary five minutes after the first.

Switch a preview off or change its address in Settings → Previews.
