The useful answers

Frequently asked questions.

How signup, the Notion connection, client access, project content, and estimate decisions work.

Product FAQ
01

What is Link?

Link turns project information from Notion into focused client and project portals with live status, dates, people, page content, estimates, and public or private access.

02

Does Link replace Notion?

No. Notion remains your team’s working source of truth. Link presents the useful client-facing parts in a calmer, branded experience.

03

How do I connect a workspace?

Duplicate the Link template into your own Notion workspace, connect that duplicate during onboarding, and let Link detect its Clients, Projects, and People databases. The original template is never used as your live workspace.

04

What information appears from Notion?

Link reads the client, project, and people properties defined by the template, along with project page content such as text, checklists, files, and nested pages. Changes made in Notion appear in the connected portal.

05

Does Link write anything back to Notion?

Only specific product actions write back: Link can add the generated portal URL, reflect the client Sync to Link control, update interactive checklists, and record an approved estimate as Estimate approved. General editing still happens in Notion.

06

Do clients need a Notion account?

No. Public links open directly. Private portals use email sign-in, so clients can access approved work without joining your internal Notion workspace.

07

Who can approve an estimate?

A signed-in client admin can view, comment on, and approve an estimate when the project is in an estimate stage. Workspace admins retain control of the connected workspace and project setup.

08

Can the portal match our brand?

Yes. Workspace appearance settings cover the company identity, logo, color choices, and typography used across client-facing pages.

09

Can a client see every project?

Access follows the client and project setup in the connected template. A portal shows the work selected for that client, while public and private visibility determine how each page can be opened.

10

Can I sign up now?

Yes. Create your account, connect a duplicated Link template from Notion, and set up your workspace online now.
